Winston Davenport answers a question asked by a subscriber, "What are your thoughts on the disappearance of Flight 370?" 3 weeks ago, Malaysia Air Flight 370 disappeared in the South Pacific. While the 239 passengers are presumed to be dead, the search continues for definitive evidence. In the midst of this global tragedy, the great loss of lives, and confusion, many Christians have formulated opinions based on their belief systems. Christian leaders have risen up to add their perspectives. In this video, respected preacher and encourager, Winston Davenport, speaks out against the false perspectives that blame this disaster on God. Davenport clearly teaches that God is not the author of evil, and His heart is never to hurt us or to cause pain. Not only that, God doesn't allow bad things to happen to good people. Rather than asking, "God, how could You allow this to happen," we should be asking, "Why did WE allow this to happen." Christians have been given authority over the earth. Jesus called Christians the light of the world, and called us to go out into the darkness, to preach the GOOD NEWS, and that when this message (the LIght) has reached the corners of the earth, His return would be complete. Jesus's ministry is still functioning in the earth today, through His Body, infused by His Holy Spirit, and we are called to set people free. Jesus clearly said that the Thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy, but I came that you might have life, and life more abundantly. The author of tragedy is the thief, the devil, and he has been defeated. Christians should be taking over the world with the power of the Kingdom, which Jesus established 2000 years ago. In this video, Winston calls out preachers who would say that God is judging sin today, because all judgment has already been poured out at the cross, Jesus took away ALL sin, not only ours but the sins of the whole world. The final judgment took place in 70 AD with the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, and the finality of the passing of the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant is done, gone, over, forever, and we are partakers of a New Covenant, the covenant which Jesus cut with God with His own blood, and we are partakers of that covenant if we are in Him. And since the covenant is not contingent on us, (We are mere partakers of it, not participants), there is no chance of this covenant being broken, unless Jesus Himself broke it.! That is amazing news! Winston Davenport also targets Anne Graham Lotz, and her recent article in Charisma Magazine, which tries to add spiritual significance to the terrible tragedy of Malaysian Flight 370 disappearing over the Indian Ocean by relating it to the so-called coming Rapture of all Christians who, as Anne Graham Lotz believes, will one day disappear abruptly as Jesus comes to take us home with Him, leaving the whole world in spiritual darkness. Winston Davenport calls Anne Graham Lotz's article narcissistic, and reprimands her, as well as the editors of Charisma Magazine, for so selfishly turning a very real and sad tragedy in our world into some sort of a self-focused significant event. We should be reaching out to the world, the Lights of the world, bringing hope, healing, and answers, not using such a tragedy to bring ourselves hope and expectation that one day we won't have to "deal" with the world any longer.
